The Perception Essence 16 Touring and Sea Kayak, ideal for you if you prefer a slightly livelier ride than the 17 with snugger ergonomics otherwise also ideal for the smaller paddler. It has a traditional V-shaped hull front and bow and well defined chines to increase edge control and directional stability also.

The essence is predictable in its handling and maneuverability and has excellent forward speed ideal for an expedition. It’s initial and secondary stability gives the paddler added confidence in more trying waters and suits you weather you’re an experienced sea kayaker or if you’re a paddler improving your skills.

Equipped with the Zone EXP outfitting, the Essence gives you the performance required from your outfitting in comfort over those long expedition days. Padded thigh braces, low ergonomic backrest and leg lifters help you get the perfect comfortable in control fit.

The Essence has 3 handy hatches, large ones front and rear and a small front day hatch for the smaller bits. There is a compass recess on the front if you’re plans are for further off shore expeditions and wish to mount one there.
